A message from Ellis and The Misnomer boys...

"So the 20th April will be our last gig as The Misnomer and we start the recording of our debut album on the 21st under the name of Atom Gang. We have many reasons for the name change. First and foremost we pretty much just dont like the current name anymore. Secondly, we have a new album on the way and have decided to start a fresh. Thirdly, we are finally happy with our line up which has taken the best part of 6 years to find. I personally have lost count of the Bass players we have had. Our full time bass player is called Rory P. Dunne. (but you can all call him chips) He drinks with us, lives with us and parties with us and thats all we've ever wanted... a solid bass player who doesn't give a shit about his liver... so thats us, the beginning of Atom Gang.

The Album will be produced and Engineered by Me (yeah, Ellis, that is I) with close ears and eyes from the other three (yeah, them three). I'm personally a bit nervous but the other chaps are not. They have every faith... speaking of faith, the drums are going to be recorded in a giant Church in Berkshire. ooooohhh! A good drum kit in a good size room with a great (yeah, great) drummer will make my job a lot easier. What you put in is what you get out and that is all were going for on this album. The songs are sounding real, alive, deadly and totally honest in the practice room and were going to fuckin' run with that. It's the songs and the rawness of the record that are going to make it shine. The music we have been listening to recently has made us think twice about how we want this album to sound. I don't want perfect anymore, I want a moment.

We have plans for doing a video for the song "Edwood" and releasing it on vinyl with a B-side from one of the album recordings. The Album is set to be finished by the end of May 2008 with a title of "I see" said the blind man. Oh, and there's an EP and record label on the way too. so there.

All the best, all our love, yours truly...
Atom Gang

Celebrate us getting dropped by getting FREE music!!

Yesterday was a momentus day here at PT Recs - we got dropped by our distributor! Despite our oversall sales for the first three months of this year being bigger than any other 3-month period in our label's history, our distributor saw fit to drop us. So to celebrate this marvellous achievement we are GIVING AWAY CDs. Yep, FREE music!

So, for a limited time, if you buy A Man Down's latest EP or Day of Rising's 'Unmasking St Minver' EP from the Punktastic webstore athttp://punktastic.bigcartel.com we will give you Fastlane's 'Overdrive' album ABSOLUTELY FREE!

That's two awesome CDs for just £4.

And not only that, but if you want a copy of Punktastic Un-Scene 3 we will send you that as well for...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Yep, just write Un-Scene 3 in the paypal notes and we'll send you that for free as well. So that's 32 songs, in 3 CDs, for just £4. We must be mad.

All you have to do is buy either A Man Down's EP or Day of Rising's EP from http://punktastic.bigcartel.com and we'll send you the rest. This offer stands while stocks last/until we can be bothered to change it. We're not bummed out about losing our distro and neither should you be - instead just enjoy free music at our expense!

Wembley!

So while our Un-Scene 4 launch bash was about to kick-off, I was at an entirely different London location - Wembley!  My beloved Grimsby Town won through to the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final against MK Dons so PT made the trip down to support the mighty Mariners!

Wembley really is an impressive ground, we parked a few hundred yards from the ground which is where I took this photo, before the game.

Then I stood below the famous arch as thousands of Grimsby supporters made their way into the ground

Which leads me very nicely on to these photos, which show the ground filling up pre-kick off. Wembley is really an impressive stadium, especially when you are used to travelling to the likes of Mansfield and Rochdale!

A rousing version of the National Anthem kicked the fans off and the game began and while were outplayed, they managed to win a penalty. Which they promptly missed :(

Ultimately we lost 2-0 but I figured the day was worth documenting, even if it has absolutely nothing to do with music at all!
